For Kikkoman's 50th U.S. anniversary, I led the visual direction for a fan campaign built around the ultimate prize: a trip to Japan. To enter, fans submitted videos about why they love Kikkoman, and the submissions got wildly creative: recipe videos, hand-drawn illustrations, even an anime. To match that energy, I developed a 3D animated series that brought the journey to life, a first-person view from inside a plane, flying over Japan, landing among iconic landmarks, sushi bars, and temples. The animation gave the campaign a visual world that fans could see themselves inside of, and the entries proved they did.
